Young girl found dead at hospital

23 February 2011 Last updated at 10:24 Police at Raigmore hospital Police vehicles and officers at Raigmore hospital Police have launched an investigation into the suspicious death of a young girl in Inverness.

Northern Constabulary said cordons were placed in part of the grounds of Raigmore hospital in Inverness, but the hospital was fully open.

It is understood a four-year-old girl's body was found at about 0300 GMT following a report to police on Tuesday night of two missing people.

The body was found shortly after one of the missing people was found safe.

Northern Constabulary said: "The death is being treated as suspicious and police are currently following a positive line of inquiry.

"Cordons are in place in the Raigmore area whilst investigations are carried out, but police would like to stress that Raigmore hospital is fully open."
